Following brands

Choose the competitors Trendmill watches for you, and ask for brands we don't track yet.

Following a brand puts it in your competitive set. Pulse, the calendar, the digest and the Brands you follow filter in the Library are all built from the brands your organisation follows. Everyone in the organisation shares the same list.

Follow a brand

Open Brands, search for the brand and press Follow. You can also follow from any brand's page. Unfollow the same way; nothing you've saved is lost.

Each plan allows a set number of follows. The Brands page shows how many you've used. See Workspace, team and plans.

Which brands to start with

Start with the five you'd name in a trade meeting: the brands your customers compare you with. Once you've seen what they send, add the brands you borrow ideas from, even if they sit outside your category.

Brands we don't track yet

The Brands directory includes brands we know about but aren't capturing. They show No coverage. Press Start watching this brand to ask for it. We start tracking within 48 hours (24 on Pro), and the first email lands the next time the brand sends. The brand shows Awaiting first send until it does.

If a brand isn't in the directory at all, contact us with its name and website and we'll add it.

A newly tracked brand's history starts when tracking starts. For the first few weeks its benchmarks and trends rest on a small sample, and Trendmill says so where it matters.
